Biography:
I am Wendy Lynn Trefethren-Granger. Granddaughter of Byron Baxter Trefethren and Rose Ocelia Wooliscroft. I may be able to add some to your page.
- Harry moved from Monhegan Island to Minnesota, where he married Elizabeth. The fishing house that was built by Harry on Monhegan Island was on the market about 18 months ago. The main house is HUGE and I’ve heard at reunions that the owners let Trefethren’s tour it... with advanced notice. Byron and his family lived in Alexandria, Minnesota, when he met and married Rose. She was 18, he was 24 at the time. After several miscarriages, they had one child, Elliot Roy Trefethren, on 01 January 47. Byron was born August 11, 1897 and died on Memorial Day, May 27, 1977, in Robbinsdale, Minnesota. Rose was born April 13, 1903 and died on Labor day, September 2, 1985, in Robbinsdale, Minnesota.
- Their son was the first child EVER to be in an incubator (born 3 months premature), thanks to Rose working at Honeywell at the time, and Honeywell’s need to try out their prototype device. Elliot first married Diana Lynn Schwab in May of 1967. They had a son, Joel Byron Trefethren, on November 6th, 1967, and a daughter, me, on August 17, 1969. Elliot & Diana divorced in 1973. Elliot married Cynthia Jean Kamp on April 25, 1981. They had a daughter, Kathryne Rose Trefethren on November 9, 1982, a son, Adam Baxter Trefethren, on March 30, 1985, and another daughter, Heather Jean Trefethren on July 27, 1986 (all living in Shoreview, Minnesota now). Elliot (aka Al) died after his second bout with cancer on December 31, 1997, at the age of 50, in St. Paul, Minnesota.
- There are also four more kids... two from me (Amber Rose - 23 October 93 & Kera Lynn - 24 December 85) and two from Joel (David Baxter - 22 April 92 & Jackie Lynn - 20 February 90).
- Margaret was Byron’s sister and she lived alone in Minneapolis, Minnesota for many years. She never married or had any children. There was a total of 11 children in his family. I didn’t meet all of them, just Ralph, Margaret, and Hazel. Hazel was married to Fred... I could ask my step mother more about them if you’d like to know. Ralph was married and has kids living in Minnesota. Other names I remember are Rose, Gene, Harry, and Milford sounds familiar. We spread out... but not much... we are mostly in the upper Midwest... North Dakota, Wisconsin & Minnesota. Some went to Nevada also. Grandpa never spoke much of his family. He only ever spoke with them when they came over and Grandma was the only one who ever invited them. There are family reunions in Alexandria ever few years during the summer (of course). ....
